The Father-Son Campout

Haha. I realize it's been since October I have actually blogged on here, but I'm getting used to the habit of coming back on here again. Thank God for Facebook, which reminded me about this:D So this Father-Son Camp-out was something for the Upstreet kids and letting the kids actually have a chance to hang out with their dad because they are always at work or something out of town or something else. The girls of Upstreet had the same opportunity before this. I had the amazing opportunity to go and volunteer and help out at this camp-out. It was amazing to see the kids bonding more in their relationship with their father. My father came into mind when I saw all these kids just having fun with their father. You see, my father had some issues with my mom that I won't go to deep into, but they divorced. I didn't see him much until I was about 8 or 9. I didn't want this to happen to them. I hope it doesn't either. Just seeing the kids bonding more reminded me of him because of the time I had with my dad when we hung out. Now, I only get to see him for a couple hours every other weekend. Sucks doesn't it? You know it:P But this experience at the camp-out was something I was glad I experienced and hopefully will again this year.

Bigstuf Camp 2008

Bigstuf 2008 was awesome! It was a lifetime experience. This year's over all topic was "Broadcast". Day 1 of Bigstuf 2008 was a little unplanned. We got there by bus and when we got there we stopped at Chick-fil-A for lunch. We ate some good ole Christian Chicken. lol. Anyways, then we went to the outside mall. There wasn't really much there. After that, we went to check-in and get our rooms. We were so confused when we were trying to find our rooms. We eventually found our rooms after 30 minutes of standing around. When we finally found our rooms, we settled in and it was almost time for dinner. (You see, our days that we spent at Bigstuf were all planned out by a schedule that the staff of Bigstuf made us in this little booklet.) Then we had our first session and Jared Herd spoke about "Live Loud." (Every session there was a subtopic. Each subtopic started with "Live .....") If I can get all 7 sessions on here, I will absolutley do that. So, everyday was at this format: 7:30-9:00 am BREAKFAST, 9:15-11:00am SESSION IN THE BIG ROOM, 11:10-11:50 YOUTH WORKER TRAINING/STUDENT GROUP TIME, 12:00-1:00 LUNCH, 1:00-5:00 (7:00 on day 4) FREE TIME AND RECREATION, 5:00-6:15 (Day 4 on your own dinner) DINNER, 6:00-6:30 BEACH WORSHIP UNPLUGGED, 6:15-6:45 QUIET TIME, 7:47-9:30 SESSION IN BIG ROOM, 9:45- 10:30 CHURCH GROUP TIME ON YOUR OWN, 10:30-11:25 FREE TIME ON YOUR OWN, 11:30 CURFEW IN YOUR HOTEL ROOMS. During Church Group Time on Day 4, Sam Burke, our youth leader, Baptised 2 people from the church of Russiaville, Indiana. It was unbelieveable. We got back to Kokomo, Indiana, at 5:15 am. It was tiring, but it was way better than last year.

The Brock Incident

Hey guys! Well, I'm in Rochestor, Indiana, at Lake Manitou for 10 days. The 1st day, yesterday, my Uncle Tom and Aunt Dorris flew in on their own airplane from Amarillo, Texas, that afternoon. We went to the airport and saw them land on the runaway. Afer that, we went skiing. Then, right after skiing, we went tubing. The funniest thing happened when we went tubing. Brock, my cousin, was hanging on at the end of the tube, trying not to fall off. Other times this happened, he survived. This time was different. He was hanging on and finally let go. When we came around to get him back on the tube, he yells out and says that he lost his truncks. Todd just stared at him and Brock yelled that they had sunk down deep into the lake. Then everyone starts cracking up and he had to wrap himself in a towel and ride home on the tube. The Dezelan girls came out after Kady had called them on her cell and started laughing. Uncle Steve Hearn tried to pull the towel off, and of course he was just playing around. It was hilarious. (The picture of him in a towel isn't really good, but it's OK.) So, yesterday was hilarious. Yuker was fun, too! Also, my Uncle Carl came down from Michigan, too! He went tubing with us also. It was awesome, but that became the first fall off I have had this year, to my memory.
